I have been using this dog food now for over 10 years. I used to use Eukanuba but then I got a bag, well to be honest more than one bag that had worms in it and after two $60.00/bag mistakes, I moved to another brand and never looked back. This food is perfect. I buy the one formulated for Chihuahuas and it's perfect. The bites are nice and small, easily chewable and my fur children enjoy the flavor. Their coats are always shiny, this food provides them with adequate health (it's up to me to feed them fresh vegetables & fruit which has now graced me with a 20 year old chihuahua who still has his teeth)! I'm not slamming Eukanuba or saying they are not any good - it's just i brought the issue of these weird worms that had bored through each nugget and the food was all woven together with a silk like material to the manufacturer and got no response, reply. Essentially no one cared, nor remedied the situation. I know, I know....you're gonna say take it back to where you purchased it (Pet Smart). I did. They took a look into the bag and asked me to put the bag on top of a mountain of returned Eukanuba food that was in the corner. They didn't give me my money back bc they said it was NOT their fault there were worms inside the food. PetSmart only told me they were going to be sending all those bags (and pointed to the Mt. of returned food) back to Eukanuba and hopefully would be getting in new stock. I did however get a coupon for a whole dollar off my next purchase. I mean really???? I really like Royal Canin dog food and so do my dogs. It doesn't have a weird odor, my dogs enjoy it and look forward to their next meal. The dry food is beneficial to the health of their teeth. My chi's are not the normal shaky, yippie little ones (nothing wrong with that but mine are not like that). My chi's go everywhere with us - so they go mountain hiking with us on their own accord, they go boating, they run around 3 acres, they corral chickens w/o harming them, they fly with us and stay in very nice Hotels. They are well rounded, well traveled little Chi's and this food helps them keep up with us and to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle when seasons allow. My dogs do have free access to the garden and I have taught them to help themselves - many tomatoes, cucumbers and bell peppers have disappeared more often than not. They eat blueberries off the plants and beg for raspberries (bc those bushes have thorns and Chi's and thorns don't mix). I attribute their abilities to exercise, good diet and Canin Dog food. In knowing what they eat, you'd think they would only eat human foods but no...they look forward to their own dog food. Royal Canin. Our Chi's range in weight from 6-9lbs and range in age from 1 - 20 years old. and I have a total of 5 dogs.
